Google Buzz; Revolutionary! But Rolled Out With Some Initial Failures

Does Google Buzz has anything new to offer? Simply speaking, I will say nothing except that it has been rolled out integrating with an email domain that already houses most of our online contacts. But, this very feature has also popped concerns over some privacy issues.

As long as Buzz highlighted a possibility to easily come in touch with our frequent Gmail contacts on a social media, its auto-following feature involuntarily added many unwanted and confidential contacts. Until now, people were using email accounts to converse with private individuals. Similarly, those who wanted social connections with friends and family members depended upon social media platforms, like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and so on.

It is here we can say Buzz intervened; a good thing in one way and worst thing as a social media was launched inside a confidential email account, mainly depending upon contacts on it. See, what happened when Buzz was introduced with its Google-boasted feature of auto-following 40 most frequent Gmail contacts. As we can anticipate, Buzz followed all of our mostly-contacted Gmail ids, even without seeking whether we wished those contacts to be listed on a social media platform.

I too found it awkward when I joined Buzz. My most-emailed contacts comprised besides of several HR people, project managers and many others with whom I made too many conversations. Even that, most of my best acquaintances on Gmail, which Buzz charted were those who disliked to be on sites like Facebook and Twitter, we can say some kind of online introverts. It was because I had to make more email contacts with them.

Whatever, we can relieve that Google, unlike Toyota has instantly declared that they are going to make a review and to back down. Reports suggest that Google is to make a few changes putting checking boxes instead of auto friends' charting.
